12,000-Ton Annual Capacity Brewery for Domestic Market

Recently, the Pinghu Craft Beer Industrial Park—located in Guangchen Town, Pinghu, Zhejiang, with a building area of approximately 13,000 square meters—officially opened. As a benchmark industrial park in the Yangtze River Delta that integrates craft beer production, smart beer dispenser R&D, brewing study tours, and cultural tourism experiences, its complete core brewing production line was custom-delivered and fully implemented by SDET. Built on precision engineering, SDET provides a solid foundation of quality for Breewsmile’s 12,000-ton craft beer capacity, jointly creating a model for modern transparent breweries in Jiangnan’s countryside.

Part 1: Turnkey Lines for the Dual “Craft Beer Production + Cultural Tourism” Model

The industrial park developed by Breewsmile breaks away from traditional brewery design by utilizing an open workshop enclosed with full-glass curtain walls. It functions both as a 10,000-ton-scale craft beer production base and an industrial tourism and study-tour space for tourists and homebrew enthusiasts across the Yangtze River Delta.

Part 2: Brewery Configuration

1. Milling System

~ Barley malt hopper
~ Wheat malt hopper
~ Wet malt miller

2. Modular Designed Automated Brewhouse System

~ Capacity: 5000L
~ Type: 5-Vessel (mash tun, lauter tun, brew kettle, whirlpool tank, and wort buffer tank)
~ All constructed from SUS304 stainless steel with internal surfaces polished to a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.6 μm; the mash tun features steam heating and a bottom-driven agitator; the lauter tun is equipped with a milled false bottom; and the brew kettle utilizes a circular shell-and-tube internal calandria with an adjustable evaporation rate.

3. Graded Automated Fermentation System

Featuring fermentation tanks across multiple capacities (5-ton, 10-ton, and 20-ton), the system incorporates double-layer thermal insulation, precise temperature control, independent tank pressure regulation, sterile sampling, and yeast recovery systems. The combination of large and small tanks balances mass production of core draught beers with small-batch specialty brews.

4. Cooling System

Equipped with a 40 KL glycol-water tank and a refrigeration unit

5. Control System

The central control system utilizes a Siemens PLC and WinCC SCADA system to achieve automated control and recipe management for the mashing and fermentation processes.

6. CIP System

Equipped with a caustic tank, hot water tank, sanitizer tank, acid tank, and associated pumps and valves to achieve fully automated Clean-in-Place (CIP).

Part 3: Tourism-Friendly Visual Equipment Layout

Departing from traditional enclosed factory layouts, SDET optimized the piping, tank contours, and distance along visitor corridors. The sleek silver tanks visible through the glass curtain wall create a striking industrial aesthetic. Additionally, small-scale practical brewing equipment supports workshops and beer festival activities, turning the production line into a key attraction and successfully implementing the industry-leading “front shop, back factory + study tour & cultural tourism” integrated model.

Part 4: Conclusion

This deep collaboration with Breewsmile is another milestone in realizing SDET’s core philosophy: “Equipment Empowers Industry.” Moving forward, SDET will continue refining automated, energy-efficient, and tourism-friendly brewing equipment, delivering reliable, highly customized turnkey solutions. Working alongside supply chain partners like Breewsmile, SDET aims to drive the standardization, diversification, and tourism-oriented evolution of the craft beer industry in the Yangtze River Delta, jointly tapping into the new “blue ocean” of craft beer consumption.
